SGDOTNET User Group Evening - Thurs Oct 4 (VSTS and .NET with Embedded Devices)

The folks at SGDOTNET have yet another exciting evening planned for Singapore (even more so as yours truly been invited to speak :) ).

Thursday Oct 4, 2007
1830 - 1900 Registration
1900 - 2000 Topic 1 - Best Practices for Team Based Software Development
2000 - 2010 Break
2010 - 2110 Topic 2 - Fun with .NET and Embedded Devices (Phidgets)

They have a guest expert from Australia (Anthony Borton) so this should be quite an eventful evening.

As for my session... I'll show everyone how to build their own power meter with an embedded device, an amp sensor and (of course) .NET!  I only recently found out how easily we can interface physical sensors / motors up to .NET.  A company in Canada called Phidgets (http://www.phidgets.com) makes low cost sensors and controllers plus they provide .NET drivers / interfaces for everything they sell.  Check out my video below.

If you can't make my session, you should check out their site.  Any serious .NET developer should have something like this at home for those "weekend" projects.
